Washing Dialysis Tubing
Contributor: The Laboratory of Michael Chamberlin at the University of California, Berkeley Procedure
1. Cut the dialysis tubing into strips.
2. Place the dialysis tubing strips into a beaker of 10 mM EDTA. Bring the solution to 80°C and incubate for 30 min.
3. Pour off the liquid and add fresh 10 mM EDTA.
4. Incubate the solution and tubing over night at room temperature.
5. Pour off the solution and immerse the tubing in 95% Ethanol for 30 min.
6. Pour off the Ethanol and store the dialysis tubing strips in Dialysis Storage Buffer.
7. To use washed dialysis tubing see Protocol ID#9054.
